2008-08-05
  • wktools Version 4 Alpha1 is now available for download here.
  • At this time, the GUI is finished and "Configmaker" is ported. All other tools will be available soon.
  • It would be nice to get some feedback for the new GUI.
  • A Linux version will also be available soon.
  • The download package includes wktool4.exe, wktools.xml and wktpc to convert the existing wktool3 settings and profiles to wktools4 profiles.

  • The first step for Version 4 is done: The settings are now saved in xml format and a convertion tool from registry settings to xml settings is available. The tool is available at the download section for interested users. Any feedback on the new settings format is welcome.

  • At this time everything is finished except the Windows Task Scheduler part.

  • I am currently working on a Scheduler. With this it will be possible to configure Tasks for saved profiles for all tools. The tasks may run on demand or may be scheduled as Windows task. It will then also be possible to start a tool with an associated profile directly from command line - no interaction with the GUI is needed.

  • Hopefully wktools Version 3.4.0.0 will be released at the end of June. 
  • Right now the Scheduler GUI and the On Demand Scheduler is already finished. The command line enhancements and scheduled tasks are in developement.
